DOE, IESNA Join Forces to Advance Industry Lighting Standards
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding to work together on strong industry lighting standards, according to a report by Lighting.com.This is seen as a step towards establishing the DOEs Energy Star criteria for solid-state lighting.
The memorandum serves to solidify and strengthen the ongoing relationship between the two organizations.
It also underscores the Departments commitment to support development of needed standards for solid-state lighting (SSL), which are a foundation for the DOE Energy Star criteria for SSL.
