The luminaire utilizes the companys LED Cluster Chip technology (LCC). The company contends that the luminaire uses only 10 percent of the energy of a conventional 100W bulb and is dimmable. LEDs American points out that it is also uses a mere 50 percent of the electricity of a CFL, but does not give off UV light, and has no mercury. The bulb known as the Led-O is supposedly 100 percent recyclable, and lasts more than 5 years.
