[LED & OLED EXPO 2011 Interview] Andrew Smith from Power Integrations, Will continue to innovate and provide superior LED lighting solutions

Prior to meet its products at the show, AVING had an interview with Andrew Smith from Power Integrations.

Q. Give us a brief introduction of your corporation and main business fields

Power Integrations (PI) makes switch-mode power conversion ICs. Our unique process technology allows us to monolithically combine power switching and control circuitry. This high level of integration enables us to combine many control and protection features into our products.

PIs customers are market leaders in a wide range of applications, including cell phone chargers and adapters, appliances, computers, TVs and displays, solid-state/LED lighting and traditional lighting, metering, and telecommunications.

Q.  Why do you decide to participate in the LED EXPO & OLED EXPO 2011, Asias representative exhibition?

PI makes innovative products for LED lighting which provide the highest power factor, efficiency, and long lifetime. We are promoting LED solutions that improve quality without increasing product cost.

Q.  Would like to know your main products or technologies which is going to be exhibited on this event

PI will be demonstrating our combined single-stage PFC (power factor correction) and constant current output SSL power IC families: LinkSwitchä-PH and LinkSwitchä-PL, along with associated reference designs and PI Expertä support software. These highly integrated lighting solutions reduce component count and enable very long lifetimes by eliminating electrolytic capacitors and opto-isolators.

Q. What are the future plans according to the directions of LED & OLED market?

PI will continue to innovate and provide superior LED lighting solutions that deliver enhanced system performance, exceptional user experience, and lower total system cost.
