- Korea's only LED and optical convergence industry exhibition held this year
- Special hall for UV/antibacterial/antiviral to open in response to market changes caused by COVID-19
The International LED Expo 2020 announced its opening at KINTEX 2 Hall 7 on Nov. 11. It will run until Nov. 13.
In its 18th year, International LED Expo 2020 is held as "International Optical Convergence Expo" by integrating PHOTONICS and LASER EXPO, displaying LED, OLED, smart lighting, optical equipment, laser-related lighting, equipment, parts, materials, and convergence fields. The optical industry is a key part of eco-friendly policy projects, and its importance is highlighted once again due to the recent increase of indoor activities. To reflect on the current situation of the optical industry and gain global competitiveness of the Korean technology, this expo will be hosting various events including online export consultation meeting with overseas buyers, LED Light Convergence Industry Forum, antibacterial and anti-viral industry exhibitions to become the key venue for exchange of relevant information.
One of the participating companies is ▲Samsung Electronics, introducing Human-Centric LED (HCL). HCL regulates the secretion of a biological hormone called melatonin with the wavelength of light as well as visual effects. During the active hours, melatonin secretion is controlled to increase concentration and work efficiency, and at night, melatonin secretion is maximized to improve the quality of sleep and rest. With the increasing trend of working from home and indoor life, it is expected to have a great effect on individual's biological rhythm control and living health.
▲Daeyang Electric will be introducing LED lighting system for helicopter landings to display products that dramatically prevent accidents with optical technology ▲Seoul Viosys will be displaying the rapidly emerging UV LED technology that has become an alternative to quarantine/sterilization technology.
Along with this, various side events like the 2020 LED Optical Convergence Industry Forum, online export consultation with KOTRA, and the 13th Government Award for Excellent New Technology Development will be held, expected to receive favorable responses from the industry.
KOTRA-sponsored export consultation
KOTRA reached out to the International LED Expo 2020 to provide a rare opportunity for LED and optical companies to meet 40 overseas buyers in one place, including the Middle East, North America, and Europe, thanks to holding the consultation on optical convergence-related products online. The consultation had been prepared online this year because of the special situation caused by COVID-19.
Government Award for Excellent New Technology Development
