EVERLIGHT ELECTRONICS CO. (www.everlight.com) showcases its comprehensive LED component range at the `LED EXPO&OLED EXPO 2013 (www.ledexpo.com)` held in KINTEX, Seoul, Korea on June 25(Tue) ~ 28(Fri).

In addition to presenting its most updated offerings of high efficient LED packages for different applications including TFT LED backlight and general lighting, automotive, LED digital display, flash light, infrared LEDs and sensors, EVERLIGHT also introduced two new LED products to the market named 62-217D and IR26-71C.

The 62-217D (0.5W) is a mid-power top-view LED (5630D package) with excellent performance, stable reliability, and dependable lead times. A high capacity and throughput of more than 200 million pieces per month and allows for high cost competitiveness and short lead times. Everlight`s 62-217D/5630D is undergoing LM80 testing to demonstrate its stable lumen maintenance. This mid-power LED series provides high efficacy, high CRI (min. 80), low power consumption, a high luminous flux output, high current capability, a wide viewing angle and a compact form factor. These features make this series ideal for many solid-state lighting (SSL) applications, especially for LED-based replacements for fluorescent tubes, light bars and omni-directional retrofit applications such as downlights and A-lamps.

In addition to the 5630D package, Everlight has one of the largest lighting LED portfolios on the industry and can cater to your every need. LEDs range from 0.06W to 25W and 3.0x2.0mm package to 20mmx24mm packages. All are based on the same foundation as the 5630D and present their own advantages in certain applications.

Everlight also introduces new 940nm SMD IRLEDs for remote control applications. The IR26-71C series provides superior optical and mechanical characteristics which makes it the first choice for remote controls. Both parts are side view components with a height of only 1.2mm. This gives the designer more freedom and allows the remote control to be as slim as possible; even with the implementation into portable devices like mobile phones and tablets. With a radiant intensity of 4mW/sr @ 20mA, the IR26-71C/L302/S63 exceeds most other SMD IRLEDs in the market. With an intensity of 8mW/sr @ 20mA the IR26-71C/L447/S63 not only outperforms other SMD IRLEDs in the market but also catches up or even exceeds 5mm IR diodes. Together with a viewing angle of 50 degrees, this outstanding optical performance ensures that the remote control does not need to be directly pointed towards the receiving device, but instead, provides a wide operating range.

Based on a similar package design, Everlight also provides another IRLED called IR26-61C series with a narrower viewing angle of 20 degrees and a photo transistor called PT26-71B series, which are both matching pairs designated for optical touch panels application. Due to the low height of only 1.2mm, the slit for the optical frame of the touch panel can be kept very small, thus allowing the device to be slimmer and having a higher quality appearance. Additionally, the high radiant intensity of 8mW/sr@20mA of the IR26-61C/L302 allows either lower driving currents, to extend the battery lifetime of handheld devices, or increased panel sizes.
