Yuyang DNU, a Korea-based manufacturer of LED lights, said Wednesday it won a LED light replacement project from Langley, located in the eastern part of Metro Vancouver. Under the deal, Yuyang DNU will replace 1,100-watt sodium lamps installed in a ballpark in Langley with 600-watt LED lamps. Yuyang DNU, which has already shipped the initial batch of 26 units of 600-watt LED lights worth USD 65,000, expected that it would win additional deals from Langley. Yuyang DNU’s LED lamp is 54,000lm in brightness and 90ml/w in luminous efficacy. It is lighter and smaller than existing products. Besides, armed with great water proofness, it is suitable for use in ports, airports and athletic facilities. Yuyang DNU last year held “LED Light Roadshow” jointly with KOTRA (Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency) and supplied its LED lamps to Vancouver and nearby Langley for a test operation. As Yuyang DNU’s LED lamp proved its worth through the pilot program, Langley has decided to strike a deal with Yuyang DNU.
